Meet our newest NCCRA Board Member: Elizabeth “Lizzie” Capps, our Coastal region VP

Lizzie is a cardiac nurse with Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center’s Cardiopulmonary Rehab program. She earned her associates degree in nursing from Cape Fear Community College in 2007 and began her nursing career shortly thereafter at New Hanover Regional Medical Center working on the cardiac surgical step-down unit. In 2016, she transitioned to the cardiopulmonary rehab program where she continues to work with patients and serves as a charge nurse. Lizzie earned her certification as a Certified Cardiac Rehabilitation Professional and is a member of the Preventive Cardiovascular Nurses Association. She has been a member of her hospital’s shared governance and is a co-chair of her department’s unit based practice council. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and three children, running, reading and teaching Sunday school.
